Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen is feeling very optimistic about his teams future. The Danish in-game leader has openly stated via Twitter that his team will be a top 5 squad by years end and challenges anyone to refer back to his tweet later.
MSL currently plays under the OpTic Gaming banner but has had several homes over the last year. The former North player was recently a member of North American organization Rogue before he and Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen elected to return to Denmark resulting in Rogue dissolving their CS:GO division.
While results with this lineup have been somewhat mixed, they most recently took down fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and FaZe in both the ESL Pro League and ECS Season 7. Mixed in there were losses to Aristocracy and HellRaisers however meaning there are certainly still some things to work on.
There have also been rumors that Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer, the team’s former in-game leader is on his way out as MSL has filled that role and the team could use a player better suited to a different role.
So whether or not you agree with MSL, the team’s results haven’t been terrible and if they can get a solid fifth in the place of Snappi, some improvement could see them make quite a jump in terms of how they sit in the scene.
